ELECTROMYOGRAPHY

Electromyography (EMG) is a medical procedure used to evaluate the health of nerve and muscle fibers. In electromyography proper, small needle electrodes are inserted into muscles to record the electrical activity generated by nerve fibers and muscles. Electroneurography, on the other hand, usually uses electrodes on the skin surface and low-level electrical stimuli. These tests are essential for identifying problems with nerves and/or muscles that cause symptoms such as weakness, numbness or pain. It turns out to be a non-invasive and generally painless procedure. Examination with the needle can cause at most minor discomfort at the point of insertion of the instrument.
